Ooo, nice selections! I am actually going to abstain, because I am tied for 1 and 3. I might even combine some box bottom action with some inner pocket action, and use the cheaper fabric straps. I'm not as excited about #2, because I don't have as much use for it -- but who am I kidding? Like I have a use for a stuffed turtle? That didn't stop me last time! Anyway, thanks for organizing!

I (a.k.a. SLY bunny)chose no. 1 because I think it's the most stylish of them all. Or am I just avoiding having to tackle a zipper again? Mmmm...I'm not sure if I can find similar handles though.

Thanks for voting, Talya and Nicole! I think people can add or delete pockets at will :) Actually I was thinking a tote bag is a cool project to do as a group, because it's kind of a blank slate and easy to customize and embellish. I'm looking forward to seeing what people come up with!

Nicole, you can buy the handles at http://www.purlsoho.com/purl/products/accessories_notions_list/99 or just substitute fabric straps (or ribbon, webbing, etc), if you can't find a store near you that sells something similar.

Thanks for the link! A lot of choice but a bit expensive to buy+ship. I will have a look in my local non-friendly craftstore or maybe settle for cheap bamboo-handles on ebay. Bamboo makes me think of summer/tropical places (and panda bears), so maybe I can use my limited resources for handles as an inspiration!
