She really does a beautiful job dying. I would love to try my hand at dying fabric but fear everything would come out hippy and trippy!!

Yes, she does! Batik is not usually my thing for that very reason, but I thought these had a pretty modern feel, while still keeping the organic-ness of batik.

I really want to dye my grungy off-white Ikea couch cushions, but I have color paralysis... I am CRAVING kelly and emerald greens right now, but would that be too much? I know one thing, off-white is BAD with a black-and-white cat! Esp one with loooooooooooong hair like my Deco.

I came across your blog today and I really enjoy it! I am also a beginning seamstress, with a new sewing machine and Amy Carol's book as my guide. I am currently taking a sewing classe and it has given me a lot of confidence. But keep up the good work!! I look forward to hearing about your future endeavors.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. Good luck w your sewing - make sure you join the Bend-the-Rules Sewing Flickr group if you haven't already. I always check there before starting any projects from that book, it's very helpful. (And of course, you can join my Learning to Sew flickr group too, and show us your projects!)
